Rosalinda spent 30 years as a children's book illustrator, which has led her to painting in a more figurative rather than abstract way. She spends her time painting from her home studio in Guildford. A favourite subject being still life's with plants and flowers. Rosalinda's paintings also show her love of ceramics which is evident in the cups, bowls and vases that set off her arrangements. Mainly working in acrylics, her smaller paintings are usually on board or paper, whereas the larger pieces tend to be on canvas. The more sweeping brushstrokes of the petals and stems being freer on canvas.
Rosalinda gets inspiration from long walks where she's often found photographing hedgerow plants or garden borders. A particular combination of colours and shapes will be the start of the next painting. "I sometimes imagine I'm a florist arranging flowers in a pleasing way"
