Biography

Monica Cuellar is an award winning, Bristol-based fine art painter originally from Spain.

Her work explores the human connection to nature and wildlife, and how memory and emotion shape that relationship.

Through vibrant colour, rich tonal values and a myriad of details, she creates immersive paintings that invite close attention and evoke joy.

Working in oils and acrylics, and occasionally incorporating gold leaf, Monica builds luminous compositions that balance intensity with quiet reverence.

Monica’s work invites viewers to rediscover the wonder of first encounters with plants and animals and to sense, anew, their own connection to it.

Monica has recently been selected as one of the winners of the visual artist association Art100 International competition.  An award that celebrates the 100 most outstanding and visionary artists recognised in 2025. Selected for their creativity, originality and impact.
