Jade is an artist that works across a range of disciplines, from her purpose-built garden studio surrounded by the nature that inspires her. Jade trained as a textile designer at Nottingham Trent University, specialising in embroidery during her degree, and her love of colour and pattern flows through her current body of work.
Printmaking has been at the centre of Jade’s practice for many years, both on fabric and paper, and this continues as she develops her current mixed media approach. Combining print with painting to create representational and sometime whimsical works on linen and paper, with the natural world and the environment very much at their heart. The natural world has been a constant source of inspiration and a lifelong passion, from the wild hedgerows to her garden filled with wildlife. In Developing this body of work she aims to raise awareness of our many beautiful and endangered native species alongside more colourful subjects beyond these shores. Jade’s work is held in private collections in the UK, Europe, New Zealand and Japan. Having taught Fine Art for nearly 30 years, Jade is now focussing on her own practice once again, although she still shares her wealth of knowledge and passion for Art that extends beyond her own practice. Workshops, courses and private tuition are available in the garden studio that was set up, not only as her work space, but as an inspiring environment to share skills and a passion for Art
